The website looks great.
Thanks!
Scott
It's extraordinary.
The Worship drop-down menu is off kilter on the Liturgical Ministry page.
It might be nice if the calendar page included only one month at a time.
Are there two ways to spell Row[e]kamp? There are two on the Leadership page.
Thanks, Scott and Bruce. Appreciate your comments.
Bruce, will make note of the feedback on the calendar page. The spelling of Rowekamp has been corrected on the Leadership page. Don't quite see what you are seeing on the Liturgical Ministry page (looks okay in my browser).
I would like to see this nifty blog support utilized in the following ways:
1) When any youth group takes a trip (e.g. NCYC, Juarez, etc) use the blog to provide a daily journal.
Those on the trip could takes turns updating the blog entry, or they could appoint a scribe for the trip. The blog would serve not only as a catalyst for reflection, but would also be a real time link to the larger HS faith community.
2)
Have a HS staff member assume the role of editor of one of the blog threads and post regularly with topical information. Our history is to pass news either word of mouth of via the bulletin. The bulletin approach doesn't encourage interaction and involvement. Word of mouth is great, but requires being in the right place at the right time.
You might ask the question, "what do I consider newsworthy"? I would answer by noting that within a blog, you'll quickly understand what people find interesting, based upon the activity. Refer to Jeff Kiger's Post-Bulletin Heard on the Street blog for examples.
3)
Start a blog thread where the current gospel(s) and homilies can be discussed. The existing faith sharing and growing opportunities at HS are fine, I'm not looking to replace anything, but rather use this technology to provide a means to extend the faith community and grow in ones own faith journey.
I could continue with more ideas, but three seemed to be a decent way to start.
Regards, Scott
It's really coming together!!
I think that there would be more interest and interaction in the website if you allowed users to start new blog topics.
I love the new website. It is user friendly and inviting for the newcomer.
